I utilize MX's main repository (pre-installed plus selections from their Package Installer) as top choice for safety which saves downloading directly from official sites (which aren't all safe from personal experiences with M$ Windows), but drivers for printers and scanners etc aren't included in repositories as there are vast numbers of peripherals and models per peripheral.

The dilemma I have is, as highlighted above, there are several sites that have instructions on how to download and install Epson drivers, in this case inkjet which forms the printing section of my XP-445 all-in-one, including an option to display the Epson Ink Level Meter which I didn't think was possible in Linux, whether GUI or Command Line instructions depending on the download source, one of which Tutorial for Linux (where the Ink Level Meter reference in the download relates to) which also includes a link for MX Linux, but while probably safe to download from, it's unofficial.
